What is Lexus Driving Signature?

Lexus has steadily improved the handling characteristics of its sedan roster (LC, LS and LX) over the last several years – adding the IS to that effort for 2021. The 2021 Lexus IS was developed at a special facility in Japan that was inspired by some of Europe’s most famous automotive proving grounds.

“What we had foremost in mind in developing the new IS was to make it a car that excelled in communicating with the driver regardless of the road conditions or driving situation,” Chief Engineer Naoki Kobayashi of Lexus International, said in a press release. “We aimed to make the new IS a Lexus compact sports sedan that provides high-quality riding comfort while offering a high level of vehicle control.”

New Connectivity Upgrades

Being able to work with outside digital devices is all but a requirement for any vehicle to be successful in the 21st century. Lexus is jumping into the connectivity pool with both feet. Not only have Lexus designers moved the new digital screen interface closer to the driver for easier use, but it is now a touchscreen. The 2021 version of the Lexus IS is also the first of the model’s iterations to be outfitted with access to both the Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ suites of applications.

Furthermore, future owners of the 2021 Lexus IS who also use Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant will be able to extend the reach of those devices to their new IS sedan for the first three years of ownership through the Lexus Enform Remote system. A high-speed 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot is also available.
