Can I End My Car Lease Early?

Life can be unpredictable. Things change and sometimes that means it’s time to adjust some things. One example of this is if you decide you want to try and end your car lease early. Perhaps you’re ready to purchase a vehicle or just want something new. You might be wondering, “but can I end my lease early?” Most of the time you can! Actually, depending on your lease contract, there can be a variety of ways to end your lease early.

  • Choose a traditional lease termination – In this case you simply bring the vehicle back to Lexus of Concord and you pay all early termination fees that were agreed upon in your contract. You may also have to pay outstanding payments and additional fees, again, depending on the lease agreement.
  • Trade in your vehicle – Let’s say you simply want to lease a different vehicle because your lease is up on the current model. While there will likely be early termination fees, we can help you get into a different vehicle and spread out those fees into your new lease over a period of time.
  • Purchase the vehicle – By choosing the buyout of payoff option outlined in your lease contract, you can buy the vehicle and end your lease. Most of the time, you can choose this option at any point in your lease.
  • Sell the vehicle – Are you stuck in a lease from a different dealership and want a different vehicle? Our team is here to help! We have the ability to buy your leased vehicle at its trade-in value. One way we can do that is by paying the leasing company what you still owe on the vehicle. In the process, we can issue you a check for the equity. You can also go through this process with a private party.
